Technology has the potential to help Americans live longer, more healthful and more independent lives in several ways, according to a report released in early March by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
The report outlines six key areas in which technology can support continued independence for aging Americans and identifies research and development needs to make these innovations a reality. Included in these key areas is Communication and social connectivity, such as the HiLois app, that connect older adults and far-away friends and relatives.
